Meet the Organizers
Meet Erica Edelman

Erica Edelman

Erica Edelman is president of Get A Life.  The company has been in operation since 1997.  During that time she has helped hundreds of clients regain control over their clutter.

Specializing in creating order out of chaos, Erica has organized many an office, kitchen, closet, garage, attic and basement and countless piles of paperwork.  Her primary goal is to create systems that work for, and can be maintained by, each individual.  She believes that organizing is a skill that anyone can learn.

Organizing has always been a passion for Erica.  After spending 10 years in advertising production, she decided to make a career change with the goal of helping people who were too busy or too overwhelmed have happier, more productive and less stressful lives.

Erica holds a BA Degree in Physical Anthropology from Duke University.  Her then focus on archeology and animal behavior have proven to be invaluable tools in her organizing endeavors.  She also has a BS degree in Broadcast Management from Middle Tennessee State University.

Erica is a long time member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization and a founding member of the North Carolina Chapter of NAPO.

She organizes people and businesses throughout the Triangle Area.

Meet Megan Valentine
Megan Valentine

Megan Valentine has been a behind-the-scenes member of Get A Life from its inception and an active participant since 2005.  Megan is a self-described pack-rat, and so deals with that precarious tension between organization and things both on a personal and professional basis.

Prior to becoming a Professional Organizer, Megan's work had been in publishing and medicine.  She is a certified Physician Assistant, which is particularly handy when sorting through medical documents for insurance and tax purposes.  During her tenure as an active PA, she was director of a pediatric clinic and later provided consultations to clinics in Africa on operations management.

Her favorite part of Professional Organizing? Spatial relations and design.  Without exception, for every client there is a way to tailor an environment that supports a creative balance between organization and stuff.
